About ELASPAN® Fiber
Introducing ELASPAN® Fiber
Different degrees of comfort can be reached in garments, by using various stretch solutions in fabrics used for the preparation of the garment itself.
Solutions obtained with the use of ELASPAN® fiber can not only provide the highly desired comfort for the consumers, but also excellent technical quality at a competitive cost for textile fabrics manufacturers.
The quality/price ratio of ELASPAN® fiber is attractive for the very competitive segments of the textile industry, like Circular knitting, Covering for weaving, etc. where a significant amount of stretch is more and more introduced by the use of multiple and generic types of elastane. ELASPAN® fiber represents a good choice for customers willing to achieve quality stretch in the various types of fabrics at competitive costs.
ELASPAN® fiber shows, already from the name, its global profile. The ELASPAN® fiber trademark is the combination of the European/Asian generic name Elastane and the commonly used Spandex name in North and South America. This is a clear indication of the "global", AND "local" nature of ELASPAN® fiber.
ELASPAN® fiber, is commercialised globally to be able to best serve customers needs, with a network of specialised commercial channels, spread over the various markets and territories.
What is ELASPAN® Fiber?
ELASPAN® fiber is a segmented polyurethane spandex (elastane) using a polyether soft segment to provide maximum chemical resistance and high retractive power. Many spandex (elastane) fibers in use today utilize a similar chemistry. An additive package is included to improve resistance to discoloration and degradation that affect unprotected polyurethane fibers. Delusterants are incorporated to change clear fiber to a semi-dull appearance with accompanying increases in whiteness and whiteness retention.
The combination of high power and good chemical durability provide a spandex (elastane) fiber that is
- easy to process in the mill,
- easy to use in garment manufacturing, and
- subsequently imparts ease of use and long life in the ultimate garment
ELASPAN® fiber is produced by a dry-spinning process, as a fused multi-filament yarn.
